Project Objective:
The project assist the
industrially and economically underdeveloped, and geographically remote
states of the northeastern region
(Arunachal Pradesh, Megalaya, Mizoram,
Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura), Jammu & Kashmir,
and the Union Territory (UT) of
Andaman & Nicobar Islands
to expand capacity and improve the quality and efficiency of technician
(Polytechnic) education to meet the specific economic needs of each state.
The project also aims at increasing access of some disadvantaged sections of
society (women, scheduled tribes and rural youth) to technician education
and training.

Salary Software etc.)

Increasing the employability for diploma passed out in mainland firms.
3. Increased
exposure of staff and students to reputed industries and training in
mailland.

course viz. Post Diploma in Marine Engineering ( PDME), Diploma in Hotel
Management & Catering Technology,
Deck Cadet Course.
having good job potential introduced. Other high demand marine courses viz.
Near Coastel Voyage (NCV) & Training for
Cadets/Crew are in pipepline.

oppurtunities - Companies like HCL, TVS, Siemens started recruiting
Polytechnic students after campus

9. Development
Communication Network (DCN) through VSAT established in remote Islands which
proved to be an effective
mode of
communication during the recent disaster . It provide service to 2000
families through Video Conferencing by helping them to
find
out the welfare of their relatives when all other mode of communication link
failed
10. Short term skill
oriented courses started for school dropouts assisting them to get self/wage
employment.
